Why Liverpool’s owners must splash the cash this summer

Totally agree with this article, if Liverpool are to compete again next year both in the league and in Europe they need new players. Especially when you think about all the players teams like United are meant to be signing and it’s an almost certainty that City and Chelsea will improve and we’ve been hearing how much money Arsenal, and then Spurs will splash cash for fourth place again and I think Everton will improve of the summer so Liverpool will have to keep up with them all by signing some new players (a left back, centre back and winger perhaps) or this season will be a one off.
Personally I think Luke Shaw would be perfect for Liverpool as he would get game time and be allowed to attack and develop but it all depends if Liverpool are willing to get their money out for him.

Liverpool have enjoyed an amazing season and, with just two games to go still, have a real chance of winning the Premier League title.

But whatever happens over the next week the Reds must build on their success and add to their squad in the summer.

It is certain that Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs and the Manchester clubs will all improve their squads while Liverpool will also be playing Champions League football next season.

This means the will be plenty of extra games to play and I fear that for this small group of players it could be too much.

The last thing Liverpool would want would be to overstretch themselves in Europe next season and have it hurt their league form to such an extent they fail to finish in the top four next…
