Allez Wiggo…

So the news has come out today that Bradley Wiggins doesn’t expect to ride in this year’s Tour De France because Team Sky’s focus is on last years winner Chris Froome.
I personally think this is a great shame but can understand Sky’s thinking. Froome won last year and they obviously see him as their best chance to win this year and cycling isn’t a sport where you can really have two contenders on one team because there will come a situation where everyone has to work for the leader and that doesn’t work if you don’t know your leader.
For Wiggins I feel genuinely gutted, with the Tour starting in England I imagine he would have been so up for it, he’s a likely person who has a character that seems to have connected him to pretty much all English sports fans, Chris Froome though, for whatever reason doesn’t seem to have done the same.
I think that Wiggins best bet would be find another team where he can be the leader and really compete but at this late hour that may be easier said that done.
I really am gutted we won’t get to see the last two winners face off but will still be willing any British riders on and hopefully we can make it three years in a row with a winner.
